May is "National Moving Month"
More than 40 Million Americans Predicted to Move this Summer
Chicago, February 2004—This year, more than 40 million Americans will pack up their belongings and post "For Sale" signs in front of their homes as they prepare to change addresses and communities. To recognize this busy relocation time and assist the millions of Americans on the move, Allied Pickfords Romania has declared May as National Moving Month.
May marks the official beginning of the moving season, a four-month relocation period between May and September during which more than half of all moves in 2004 will occur.
"2004 promises to be an active relocation year," says Mike Fergus, president of moving services, SIRVA, Inc., the parent company of Allied Pickfords Romania, the world’s largest mover of families. "As schools close their doors for summer, millions of families will be changing addresses. And, with the ever-changing economy, Americans are moving where the jobs are."
